This article is a functional testing article for the xLog platform, aimed at verifying core functionalities such as content publishing, format rendering, and tag association in a local running environment. As a decentralized blogging platform under the Crossbell ecosystem, the core advantage that attracts me the most about xLog is "content ownership belongs to the user"—unlike traditional centralized blogging platforms, the content published here is stored in a distributed manner via IPFS, with core metadata synchronized to the Crossbell blockchain, fundamentally avoiding the risk of content loss due to platform shutdowns.
In the local testing environment, I experienced the complete publishing process of xLog: from connecting the test wallet to complete identity verification, to clicking "Create New Content" to enter the editing interface, the entire operation logic is clear and intuitive. The editor supports standard Markdown syntax, and functions such as bold, lists, code blocks, and image insertion respond normally, making it very user-friendly for those accustomed to writing content in Markdown. During this testing process, I focused on verifying the content saving, format preview, and tag addition functionalities, and found that the association and display logic of tags were smooth, helping users quickly categorize and manage content.
The value of a decentralized content platform lies not only in the security of content storage but also in breaking the monopoly barriers of traditional platforms. In xLog, the user's identity is built on the Crossbell chain ID, eliminating the need to rely on the account system provided by the platform, allowing content to be migrated and reused across applications, truly realizing "I control my content." In the future, I will continue to test features such as comment interaction and content export, further exploring the application potential of decentralized blogging. Through this test, it is evident that xLog, while ensuring ease of use, fully leverages the advantages of blockchain technology, providing content creators with safer and freer publishing options.
